We landed! Welcome to Africa. We spent the last year, and some change, in
France, learning French. We changed the
country of our destination in Africa.
And our family grew by another member now we are a family of 5. And as the Language learning center in France
was the most fertile place in the world we are expecting to be a family of 6 in
July. Ummm yeah, that was unexpected.
We poured ourselves into French learning and the schedule
prevented me from creating the frequent updates that I would prefer. As a result, I am at a spot again where I would
like to hear from you. What would you
like to hear about? I would love to know
who our supporters in prayer and who our audience is. Please let me know about yourself and let me
know what part of our story you are interested to hear about (either in the
comments below or on Facebook). I want
to write to you and for you so that you can join us on our journey to reach
people with the greatest news ever proclaimed.
Just by way of quick update we are now a part of a church
planting team. Our goal is leadership
development and working with the Christian leaders here to equip them to plant
churches for the glory of God. For us
there are still many decisions that need to be made. Despite some uncertainties, God’s will is
still directing our path, and we have landed.
We truly have felt your support as we learned French. I look forward to keeping you even more up to
date as we continue forward. We could
not embark on this journey if it wasn’t for all of you who pray and support
us. Thank you for being a part of our story.
Prayer requests:
Praises:
- French learning is taken root. We are able to talk with most of the people
here. We are able to survive in city
life.
- The girls are loving Africa. They think that every woman here is a
beautiful princess because they are arrayed in colorful clothing.
- We have an amazing team of whom we are privileged to meet,
get to know, and begin work with.
- Praise God that we found a house. We are going to be moving in a week or
two.
Prayer requests:
- Pray for Wolof language learning. (This is the heart language of many people
here.) May God grant continued ability and passion to learn.
- Pray that we can quickly raise funds for a vehicle so we
do not have to cram our growing family of five into the back of a taxi.
- Pray that we can fully outfit our house.
- A big prayer request for my dad, David Hahn. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor and is
going to undergo chemo in the coming weeks.
As always thank you for reading, sharing, and praying. Please let us know what questions you have
for us in the comments, or by following us on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/groups/hahnsheadout/).
So glad to see from you.
ReplyDeleteBeing a family member, of course I love hearing the family aspects of the trip, specifically, how the girls react to new situations, new culture, etc.
I will pray for your health and safety and I'm excited for your new venture with the Wolof language.
I love to see how God blesses you and your journey and I appreciate the time it takes to blog.
